ABOUT JAAP
He was born and schooled in the Free State Province of South Africa and holds post graduate degrees in Marketing, Public Relations and Accountancy. Whilst working he also served in a journalistic army unit of the Reserve Forces.
He worked as a PRO for a national concern before starting a practice as business and taxation consultant in Cape Town. Since then he has been involved in property development and the hospitality industry. He owned hotels in the Garden Route and a game lodge in the Timbavati Private Game Reserve.
Jaap is a sport enthusiast and supporter of Springbok rugby and the Protea cricket team. He plays golf and bowls and loves hunting and camping.
He proclaims to have only one characteristic in common with one of the heroes in this novel - an appreciation for good red wine.
He lives in the beautiful coastal town of George in South Africa with his wife and daughters, a mother-in-law, two sheep dogs, two cats and an African Grey parrot who knows only one swear word.
